33% of People Would Rather Vacation Alone with Their Phones

I know it sounds bad - but it's really not that awful

From Travel & Lesiure

Last month, the travel company issued the results of a surveywhich said, given the ultimatum, 33 percent of American travelers would rather take their cellphone on a trip than a travel companion. Expedia christened this phenomenon the “mobilemoon” and quickly tied the trend to their mobile app, which they said has many helpful features for a solo traveler.

Switch out phone with "good book" and it's basically the same thing - and sounds a lot more romantic

AND - everyone should do a big trip by themselves at least once in their life
